This house and basement new-build is going to benefit from some amazing views out across Yorkshire.

3 concrete piersThe plot for this newbuild was situated on the edge of a disused quarry, so the ground was not very good. We had to dig down to around 6 metres to find good ground from which to build off.

To bring the foundation levels back up to the underneath of the basement floor slab, three 3 metre tall hollow concrete cylinders were craned into place on top of steel reinforced pad foundations. The cylinders then had to be filled with concrete, over 18 tonnes worth, ready to support the basement floor.

The basement and upper floor level has now been built and concreted, and the stone cladding applied to the full structure.
