B-A-G Building Methods - Insulating Concrete Formwork

An extension built with ICF

We specialise in using Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) systems, such as the Amvic ICF System, a highly energy efficient modern method of construction. This domestic extension was built using one such ICF system.

We believe that ICF construction, in combination with our professional skills and experience, allows us to deliver projects to our customers that fully meet their requirements.

B-A-G Building Contractors have used ICF systems for over 15 years now in many parts of the UK and even abroad as well, which you will see from our portfolio page

About the Amvic ICF system

The Amvic ICF System is designed to maximise build speed and performance. It is a pre-assembled, fully reversible ICF system - each block provides approximately half a square metre of wall area.

Amvic straight and 90 degree corner blocksThe ICF components fit tightly together without using glue or mortar to form a very strong formwork system into which we pump concrete. The concrete core width can be varied in size according to the structural requirements of the project.

At 0.24 W/mēK the standard U-value of the finished wall construction is significantly better than Building Regulations require, but can be made to go even as low as 0.11 W/mēK if desired.
